Default Filter specific file extension need help

I've read the related posts with similar questions, yet I haven't been able to conclude from this how to filter a specific file type. Some of my linkgrabber adds bundle .js files and I am tired of removing these every single type before continuing.

I'm familiar with the Linkgrabber Filter feature and have successfully used all kinds of filters. For reasons that I hope someone can help with, I can't seem to filter these bundled .js files.

Please provide a simple step-by-step.

Many thanks!

If you are familiar with the linkgrabber filter then I don't understand your issue.

Please post the links you add, add screenshots, tell us which urls you want and which ones you don't - maybe we can help you then.

The thing to understand, in this case, is nuance. While someone may be familiar with the fact that their stove has an oven feature, and has previously succeeded in grilling cheese in that stove, that person may nevertheless not understand how to use it to bake a chocolate cake. For instance.

As I noted off the start, I am used to using the linkgrabber filter, and have successfully gotten it to do what I need. I've managed to filter all manner of things. Until now, that is. I simply can't filter .js files.

I have clearly come across a hurdle that leaves me short of being able to boast of having linkgrabber expertise. But then, I never boasted of that in the first place. I merely stated that I'm familiar with using the linkgrabber feature. I have, you'll perhaps recognise, met my chocolate cake. So to speak.

I'm hopeful you can provide the recipe to how to universally block .js files - or, rather, any file type, as even a generalised tutorial on how to filter a file type will be of great help to me. I'm inclined to think that this shouldn't be too difficult to explain without invoking screenshots and such. But then again, that's precisely what someone who doesn't know how to make chocolate cake may believe: how hard could it be?

Maybe you could show your expertise.

Sincere thanks.

File Type --> Is --> Select "Custom Type" --> Enter "js" in the field below.

Thank you very much.

I now see where I went wrong. It seems that writing ".js" doesn't work, whereas "js" does.

Details matter, whether using JD or baking a chocolate cake.

Thanks again. I hope this helps others.

Hi, how can I add a rule for the link "**External links are only visible to Support Staff**? I've done as indicated above, but it is ignored.

Example link crawler rule for your URL/file-extension:
Code:
[ {
  "enabled" : true,
  "updateCookies" : true,
  "logging" : false,
  "maxDecryptDepth" : 1,
  "id" : 1422443765154,
  "name" : "mirrors.coreix.net example rule ",
  "pattern" : "https?://mirrors\\.coreix\\.net/.*?\\.asc",
  "rule" : "DIRECTHTTP",
  "packageNamePattern" : null,
  "passwordPattern" : null,
  "formPattern" : null,
  "deepPattern" : null,
  "rewriteReplaceWith" : null
} ]
