Answer is not at this current stage, those figures are enforced to prevent DDoS type of events by jdownloader client to content providers services. Next major version we are looking at putting back some user preferences for retry on connection issues. The problem is users will always just make it the smallest value and end up getting our client banned...

I would immediately stop paying your Internet provider for such a bad service and try to find a reliable ISP. I know very wet countries and seashore regions in the world that have perfectly reliable Internet services. If you've ever visited the UK you can't deny it's a very wet island. Also most transcontinental Internet traffic is via cables in the oceans. Isn't that wet?

@remi, I think that this is not the answer he is looking

@thecupu, I do not know whether it is useful, but try to set:
- Settings -> Basics -> Download and Connections -> Internet & Network: Section Timeout & Connection loss

I hope that is helpful

jD can't restore a connection when the connection has been aborted by the server, no matter what settings you have in jD.

Rain or water shouldn't have any influence on an ISP's quality of service. They should protect their servers with a roof.
