Some videos are starting to have more than 1 audio stream, example: PRSqFtUdj6E
Could you add support for this, or is already on the works? |

Youtube subtitles with error
The YouTube subtitle is being downloaded incorrectly.
I will try to explain below. The subtitle pattern looks like this: Code:
1 00:00:30,600 --> 00:00:36,880 Free will is your ability to decide by yourself what you do. It means that the future is an open 2 00:00:36,880 --> 00:00:42,680 arena that you can shape with your actions. It’s at the core of human relationships - it means 3 00:00:42,680 --> 00:00:48,440 you are responsible for your actions, which is the basis of our moral and legal systems. But JDownloader is saving the subtitle file like this: Code:
1 00:00:30,600 --> 00:00:42,680 Free will is your ability to decide by yourself what you do. It means that the future is an open 2 00:00:36,880 --> 00:00:48,440 arena that you can shape with your actions. It’s at the core of human relationships - it means 3 00:00:42,680 --> 00:00:53,240 you are responsible for your actions, which is the basis of our moral and legal systems. Note that the 2nd timecode of subtitle 1 was replaced by what would be the 2nd timecode of subtitle 2. And so on, until the end of the file. In other words, the organization of times is all wrong, as we have subtitles that start before the end of the previous subtitle. Using this online subtitle capture, I have the correct subtitle, with the right timecodes along all the file. To better understand the problem, please, using JDownloader, download any video from Youtube, with subtitles. After that, go to **External links are only visible to Support Staff**Downsub and download the same subtitle. Compare them! You'll see the mess with timecodes I explained above. I would like to know if I'm missing something here... Thanks. |

@Gabarito: Please provide example links.JDownloader downloads the files as they are so my best guess would be different subtitle formats in use by the other tool as YT offers different formats.

No.
You can either use normal forum attachments which only us mods can see or use file hosting services like mega.nz or workupload.com to upload files and post a link to them here.

Can you fix this very annoying behavior?
Sometimes connection problem or getting blocked by youtube results in every link being offline and the file size is reset to 0. At least give us a setting to turn this off. I have 1700 links and it turned into 0/1700 online I have to recheck all the links and it is very slow. It took me hours to add 1700 links. One reason I chose JD2 gui is I can manage the disk space, needing to recheck all the links especially when it is so slow to see how much space I need to free up is very annoying. This same batch of 2000+ links initially is the 3rd time I have to recheck these links took over 2 days to do it and now I need to do it again. |

what I found out so far: - If I'm logged out of youtube account, everything works fine. But age restricted videos can't be downloaded. - If I'm logged into a youtube account, adding videos into linkgrabber works fine, shows correct file size etc. But if I then try to change resolution, it shows file offline. If I try to download any video it will show error : File not found. - If I'm logged into a youtube account, some videos do download, but they'll be changed from 1080p 60fps to 360p 30fps not sure what's causing this, happened around a week ago for me. Didn't change any internet setting whatsoever. Thanks. Last edited by bot_pet; 04.07.2024 at 03:02. |

On LinkGrabber tab, rightclicking on subtitle, it shows properties->show download urls, but it has only the name of subtitle file, not the link for download. But rightclick also has a Youtube option: youtube->change subtitle variants. On Download tab, there is no longer Youtube option. On properties->show download urls, but it's the same, only the name of subtitle file. In the past, I could do that, using those links from my previous post. I don't know what happened that, nowadays, I got only a blank page instead. I'd like to grab the XML file for that subtitle. And to better understand what DownSub and JDownloader are doing for download the subtitle file. Because, the way JD gives the file, the end timecode for each subtitle is AFTER the begin timecode of the following subtitle. The most video players won't show them when this occurs. |

The 7680p is selectable in settings / youtube plugin but the linkgrabber does not automatically select 7680p it still defaults to 3840p. You still have to manually change variant to get the higher resolution. At the choose variant pop up, the image/video resolution says 09/09 and highest is 4320p even though 7680p is available in the list, is that causing it to not auto select the 7680p? |

@minixbox: update does not alter settings for existing users, you have to reset Settings->Advanced Settings->Youtube.qualitysortidentifierorderresolution
and make sure you have Youtube.maxvideoresolution set to 7680p

I used to use GomPlayer. It ommits the subtitle that starts before the end of the last one. When I play using VLC, all subtitles are shown. Now, I understand: this resource, to start subtitle before the end of the previous one, is to show both and give some link between them. @Gabarito: Thanks for the feedback!
Those URLs will expire and JDownloader will refresh those when you try to download. There is no way for permanent links.

Not able to add additional variants
Adding additional variants stopped working since a day or two.
Happening on Ubuntu 23.10 + Java 21 Steps to reproduce: 1. Downloaded the JDownloader.jar from main site and execute. 2. Once up to date add any yt video 3. Select option to Add additional variants 4. Select some video variants and click Add 5. No change in the linkgrabber Expected result: selected variants should be added to the linkgrabber download list. |

There is a ridiculous bug in the app.
Now I have to find out which videos were affected and redownload a big portion of the videos. Why would JD2 behave like this????? Connectivity issue of any kind turns all youtube videos offline, fine that is expected. But when you re-download the videos from the downloads tab, JD2 will automatically download a lower resolution for almost every video! Why? Videos that has file names with the resolution embed like 2160p, the app automatic re-downloads a 2160p video as 1080p or 1440p and the downloaded file name reflects that. Also affects videos that turned status to "file not found" most people would try to re-download it from the downloads tab but it downloads in lower resolution without notifying the user. The only way to avoid this is put the file not found and offline links back into the linkgrabber. Found multiple 1080p videos status changed to offline from temporary server issue or my connection problem, retry download from downloads tab and it downloads as 720p, why is the app changing the resolution without user input?? Those same videos can download as 1080p if I put them back in the linkgrabber and re-add them to the downloads tab. Last edited by minixbox; 07.07.2024 at 14:02. |

I can confirm JD2 automatically downloads a lower resolution as worse as 2 tiers lower if you restart a download after it failed for connection issue.
The app should not be doing this without user input, the resolution that the user selected should be locked. The original selected resolution is available if delete the broken link and add it back in. Sometimes it'll go even lower than 1 lower resolution tier, 4k to fhd instead of 4k to qhd. 7680p -> 2560p 4320p -> ? 3840p -> 2560p or 1920p 2160p -> 1440p or 1080p 1920p -> ? 1440p -> ? 1080p -> 720p And there's a bug when crawling if it can't determine the file size. I put in a link to a 1920p video, it automatically selects 1080p with file size of 11 Mb. 1920p is available but it won't automatically select it, if I select it manually it shows up as unknown file size. When starting the download the file size changes from unknown to 19 Mb, same as the other famous app. You won't know the higher resolution of the video is available unless you manually check it in the linkgrabber. If it won't automatically select the best resolution, it would help a lot if the app has a way to indicate higher resolution is availale. |

There is a weird thing with subtitles going on. I have noticed variant selection missing, but at least something was selected, until I ran into this video:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** (YT v=9RnBAVmTy4A) In GUI I can see automatically generated subtitles available and displayed, yet nothing shows up in JD, even as additional variants. I have verified if settings have not been altered silently, but subtitles are still checked in both Allowed Media Types and Variant Collections. |

JDownloader auto changes variant if selected/wished variant no longer exists. You can change/disable this via Settings->Advanced Settings->Youtube.autoalternativesearchdepths This feature was introduced because in some countries higher quality variants were listed/announced by yt, but not available at all and browser also auto chosen the next best variant. I need logs and analyze those to find out why this handling erroneously takes place.

After set to 0 and restarting the app: 1. Existing broken links always download at lower resolution, change is not retroactive 2. Links currently in downloads tab but while downloading shown as offline, if the first re-download attempt works it will download at the initial resolution, if not and after a few retries it will download lower resolution 3. New added links that turn into offline links while downloading, same behavior as #2 The default is 5, I set it to 0 and it still downloads lower resolution. For example on a 2160p video, the status changed to file not found. I restart this download a few times, it starts downloading the 1440p variant despite setting it to 0. Setting it to 0 should've locked the resolution to what was initially selected right? When I saw it downloading the 1440p variant, I stop the download and re-add it to linkgrabber, the linkgrabber will show 1440p as the max available, going into change variant will also show 1440p as max available. It won't show the 2160p variant in the linkgrabber unless I delete the link from the downloads tab and re-add the link. If I set the value to -1 it won't download what was initially picked which is the 2160p or any lower resolution variant no matter what. I think this is what it's supposed to do. To prevent the app from re-downloading in lower resolution, I am using -1. I delete the offline links and re-add it, this is the only way I found that will preserve the initial resolution. Setting the value to 0 doesn't do anything. |
#6035
|
|||
|
|||
After further testing, setting autoalternativesearchdepths to a negative number won't work, downloads won't start. Shouldn't this not trigger anything if the selected resolution is available?
At 0 value, some videos won't re-download manually, I use force download, it will give file not found error. If I try it a few times, it will start downloading lower resolution. Some videos force download will start immediately at lower resolution. I think the reason some starts downloading lower resolution immediately and others after a few tries is because the former had a few re-download attempts already. So my testing conclusion is the 0 value sometimes will work and sometimes it won't work. Multiple retries will always bypass it. That should not be the case if it's set to 0. For offline links due to connection issues, the original selected resolution is available if you delete the link and re-add it. But if you never do this, the app blocks out that resolution, you will never be able to download it at the resolution you selected first and you can only get the lower resolution if you retry enough times. Ideally the app should handle this one of two ways 1. Re-download video with resolution locked at what was initially selected if user chose this option in advanced settings. I don't think the app is able to do this now, it blocks out the selected offline resolution until you delete/re-add. The video at the chosen resolution is not offline, it only seemed that way because of connection issues. 2. Add a method to delete/re-add links in one step while using the current link's properties like package name, save location, etc. |

jd falsly mark file as already downloaded.
for example you add a video to download and download it. then you add it one more time and change resolution. but file name is not changing, and showing red as if it is already in downlod list. other way around - add a video, (1080 for example) change resolution to lower one (720 for example), download. add it one more time, jd shows 1080 red. with any youtube link |
