why does jdownloader keep asking to install FFmpeg?
I tried to download YouTube videos, which requires ffmpeg. I clicked install, but jdownloader instead showed a message "You have the latest version." What should I do now? It doesn't allow me to install it.

Try the following. Close JDownloader, then fix your installation, see
https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...r-installation and then wait for JDownloader to ask for ffmpeg again and then restart JDownloader. What OS are you using? MacOS?

Same problem. Win10 Pro x64, Java is current release Version 8 Update 301.
Happened first about 2 weeks ago, needed full uninstall & reinstall. Just happened again today. Above tip fixed it. BTW "JDownloader.jar" was present. No idea why this is happening, nothing has changed in how it is used or updated & it is still whitelisted.... |

Please provide a log, see https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...d-session-logs
then we can check why JDownloader is still asking for ffmpeg again and again

I have seen this on start since the last update. (01 Oct) & is in updateError.log / Error.log :- Code:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jdownloader.update.launcher.JDLauncher at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at com.exe4j.runtime.LauncherEngine.launch(LauncherEngine.java:81) at com.exe4j.runtime.WinLauncher.main(WinLauncher.java:94) at com.install4j.runtime.launcher.WinLauncher.main(WinLauncher.java:25) Will see if I can resolve it. ~~~ Update Reinstallation fixed that & FFMPEG was reinstalled also on run. Will now log to see if I can catch any further errors. Thanks for the help. Last edited by HamBush971; 02.10.2021 at 13:14. Reason: Update |

@HamBush971. Thanks for the feedback
https://support.jdownloader.org/Know...r-installation This method should also work just fine. No need to reinstall JDownloader.
