Keep having troubles with youtube for the past few days. DL mostly mp4s and tried out two just now. This time mp4 worked for the second link, but m4a and mp3 (tried them out just for fun) didn't, neither did the first yt-link.

How about example links?
We do not even have HDS support, any new protocol needs a lot of time.

Default YouTube LinkGrabber not getting all video links

I'm having problems getting JDownloader2's LinkGrabber to crawl for links of all videos in a YouTube channel or for a user, etc.

Looking at the logs, it seems to get stuck and abort crawling for video links when it encounters a video that is restricted by region or whatever.

I've uploaded a log with debug logging enabled. It is:

09.02.14 17.09.08to09.02.14 17.10.14 jdlog://2478334130931/

It's my first time doing that, so i'm not sure if i did it right.

An example channel i am trying to get all video links for is:

**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff**

JDownloader 2 seems to think there is only 12 videos in the channel (but there is way more) and finishes crawling very quickly. Anyway if i did the log thing correctly you should be able to see that as it's the last thing in the youtube log file.

Let me know if there's any more information i can provide.

It might be a tad difficult for you to debug and test this yourself as i am in Taiwan and the particular videos may not be blocked in your region or whatever. There is some text in the last response from youtube.com in the logs that says: ..."&errorcode=150&status=fail&csi_page_type=embed&reason=This+video+contains+content+from+WMG.+It+i s+restricted+from+playback+on+certain+sites."... Not sure if that means anything to you.

Today I've let JD2 download its version of ffmpeg, which it did successfully.
Then I checked which version it's using.
While the ffmpeg.info-file in the folder noted that the build of January 15th has been downloaded, the actual binary is from November 2013: http://i.imgur.com/WiODkgK.png

How's that possible?

Default JD not grabbing YouTube 480p (others grab fine)

Running JD 0.9581 on multiple PCs (XP Pro 2, Win 7, etc)....
Just recently noticed JD in any PC i'm using is not grabbing YouTube 480p (It'll grab all others, incl. 720p). YES... YouTube offers the wanted links at 480 (using YouTube 'Settings').

Please help!

You might have to use another program to get the youtube as they constantly update the code to prevent downloads. The program I used to download youtube video is not part of JD but a separate running program when I need it and it can go from flv to 1080 depending on the source itself so if JD isn't working correctly for you-you might want to try another source to see if that doesn't help out.

Default I want everything simple as before

Dear Developers,
Why everything getting more and more complex. It was so easy to get some video from youtube before. Now why I have to deal with ffmpeg, and bunch of files in my download directory. I don't want any muxing or something like that. I just want to get the video as it is. 720p or 360p mp4 I prefer. Please tell me, it is still possible to get videos as before.

Thanks

I'm using JD2. But I hate to be forced to use ffmpeg. As I said, there should be a way to get the videos directly, without muxing etc.

That's not possible, because Youtube does not offer this any longer. If you want to get High Quality Videos, you have to use the Youtube DASH Streams, which are separated in Audio and Video Stream.

You are not forced to use FFMpeg, but if you want audio and video in one file, you will need at least any tool to mux the streams.

This IS NOT a JD THINGY. If it would be possible to load the videos like before, we would do it.

I'm downloading from a single link but seeing too many files on my download directory. audio files video files. Why should I reserve multiple times more space than the final video? All downloaded files stays there until I manually delete them. And I see the same video file multiple times. This is weird.

1. AudioStream Size + VideoStream Size = Final Size
The difference is only a few kilobytes. The data is not more than before.

2. You should see exactly 2 files/clip. 1 audio, 1 video
3. Audio & Video should get deleted automatically after merging

It seems that all this does not work as you expect it. Can I have a look via teamviewer? I'm waiting in out chat for you.

I've seen this same reply by JD Developers for what seems like years ...yet the term Beta does not inspire confidence.
Also, if JD (std.) is a dead duck, why do I still get regular Update messages the version I use (JD 0.9581)?

Please update JD 0.9581.

I have JD2, and I never use it due to reliability issues...as I've noted several times in prev. messages.

Thx!

@13mh13
1. JD1 gets plugin updates, that's all.
Due to incompatibility, the youtube plugin will never work 100% in the Stable again - BETA is needed then.
2. Tell us what your problem with JD2 is.
We know it is still a BETA but as said, it's impossible to fully maintain JD1 and it makes no sense.
In the future, JD2 will fully replace JD1 so till then we should fix/improve all the stuff you don't like.

Because this is the youtube thread, please either open a separate thread for that or, if you want to post JD2 feedback, post it in the JD2 feedbackt thread

Respectfully, you're the one that moved my orig. query to this child forum (JD2)...

IAC ... no excuses ... either you and your team keep up with YT -- which is VERY popular among JD users -- or you will lose these users via attrition. Maybe by design? ... developers get bored ...and are tired of us users griping all the time so, perhaps the whole JD project will be phased out?
Hey ... who can blame you? ... with constant complainers like me ... I sure as hell wouldn't want to your job.

@13mh13

We have kept up with YouTube changes, or at least tried to. YouTube has been breaking the Audio and Visual components of videos up into individual parts, this is a format called DASH. Coalado has spent a serious amount of time on the new plugin to support DASH, along with other new features like right click context control over YouTube objects in LinkGrabber/Download Tabs. These new features can only provided within JD2, as we can not push core updates into older versions of JDownloader. If you want to use a comprehensive YouTube plugin that works, you will need to use JDownloader 2.

Also there are other fundamental flaws (JD Browser issue) in older versions of JD which prevent some services. For example login/account services required for restricted content.

In respects to your BETA statement, it's common practice to hold BETA release for extended periods of time.
_http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle#Impact_of_the_World_Wide_Web
While we don't expect to be in BETA release for ever, it's just how the cookie crumbles.

Hi there.
I have uploaded my JD2 Beta just now, and now it doesn't find any links (videos or songs) in the LinkGrabber for Youtube links. I have tried with different videos, and for all of them it shows that the search has finished, but no links appear to be downloaded.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem???

Thanks.

Use *date_time[yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.000'Z']* you can use whatever date/time format you want in the brackets. This should represent the XML Time you want.

I installed Jdownloader 2 go try to get mp3s again. Seems like there is a lot more flexibility here. It looks really slick.

I wish you wouldn't try to sneak crap-ware onto my computer/browser. It tarnishes your otherwise stellar product. I'd rather have a permanent non-porn advertisement bar at the top that I could buy out of than that...

@coalado, thanks for help.
right click>set variant/add additional variant>only I can select video quality or audio quality.normal for audio files, because no video. but for videos not normal. please add support audio quality selection for video files (I need it because tv shows.256kbps good for music videos but 128kbps for tv shows enough for me, and half audio filesize)

-customized filename. can I set different filenaming for audio/video/image/subtitle ?
-can I add lame.exe or ffmpeg.exe for mp3 convertion ? (not important but for good for mp3-only players)

maynak00:

You can add a custom variant that can use any stream as input stream and pass it to ffmpeg

See here: http://board.jdownloader.org/showpos...&postcount=684

Audio Quality Selection:

If you have extended Variants names(Advanced config) enabled, you will get all variants.

BTW: There are new properties for filename and packagename.
Audioqualty, audiocodec, resolution, videocodec

You can use Advanced Config for extended naming:
  • Youtube: Video Filename Pattern
  • Youtube: Subtitle Filename Pattern
  • Youtube: Image Filename Pattern
  • Youtube: Audio Filename Pattern
  • DEFAULT: Youtube: Filename Pattern

Bei youtube videos mit untertiteln bekomme ich im Linksammler Untertitel angezeigt obwohl ich in den Einstellungen Untertitel ausgestellt habe.
