Default Very slow speed on premium accounts

Since about a week, I'm experiencing very slow on my premium accounts, Fileboom, Rapidgator and Keep2share. Rapidgator is even worst, JD2 doesn't recognize it as a premium account.

Best speed I can get is around 2-3kb/s, but most of the time, it's even lower than that.

I've double checked to make sure Java and Jdownload all have the right access in my firewall, I disabled my firewall, I double checked I'm using premium accounts and I have the lastest version of JD2.

My problem is similar to the user here:
http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=57737
But I did have 'premium accounts' enabled.

I tried to workaround for RG, doesn't work for me (Disable API).

One thing to note: this is not a "clean install". As I recently reinstalled Windows, I had to reinstall JD2, but I copied my old directory over the install to get all my downloads back. I don't know if it's the problem, I haven't tried new files yet, since it kinda takes forever to download.

EDIT: I've also deleted the tmp folder several times, to no avail.

Check if the speed is not limited or paused.

I thought of that, but couldn't find the setting, now I did, and most of the hosters are working, and I feel totally dumb, thank you

It has not fixed my problem for Rapidgator, though. Do you want me to report it in the specific RG thread? Do you need me to send my login info to someone?

disabling the API would only effect the pre download sequence. The final links that the website and API give are the same. So download speeds should not be influenced by using API or website. The only inflences that I can think of would be,
- that given download server was over loaded (no spare bandwidth)
- given download server had hardware issues
these two issues, you would get fast downloads and slow ones depending on given where files are located.

- bandwidth of rapidgator is saturated (would effect premium and free users)
So for this one, as in they have many servers but a common uplink trunk.

- your not actually using premium?
screen shot of download process can usually tell us, like it did with the referenced thread in the OP.

- speed limiter is enabled either via pause mode or a custom limit you've imposed.

Great news, seems I took too long to respond.

Anyway good to hear you have resolution. That said it was a thing I brought up in Private message with the author of the referenced thread in OP.

When pause mode or speed limit is invoked you will see a red line in the 'download speed graphic'. This is is how you're meant to tell that it's enabled/invoked. And if you took a screen shot, we would have seen it ;p

Link still doesn't work here. My problem is download speeds. I've got the latest updated JD2 beta installed, and for the past couple of weeks have noticed much slower download speeds with my Rapidgator premium account as well as other free hosts.

Could my ISP, Optus broadband cable speed be slowed down by Optus? At the moment I'm getting an average of 130 -140 kbps with my RG premium account, where a few weeks ago I was getting 350-400 kbps speeds when using the old v1 release of JDownloader.

I also asked Rapidgator about the problem. Here is their reply:

Dear Customer,

Check your Antivirus and FireWall setting and try to use Free download manager:
http://jdownloader.org/download/index
If you have any problem with JDownloader use the JDownloader support boards, search on "unable to write to disk" or "No permission to write to file", there are many posts.

Some of the recommended solutions:
- use less chunks
- allow java.exe, javaw.exe and jDownloader in your firewall
- unstable internet connection, contact you ISP
- reboot PC
- uninstall/re-install firewall
- uninstall/re-install virus scanner
- torrent client using too many connections
- uninstall JRE (java) and re-install latest JRE version

Kind regards,
Marina

JD Beta has quite a few updates in the past couple of days, but the problem with download speed still exists. Do you think it could be Rapidgator?

I solved the problem. For years I've been leaving the speed setting unticked, which I understood to be unlimited. Today as an experiment, I tried ticking the box and entering 5 MB per second. Well, it isn't going that fast, but RG premium links that averaged 130-140 kbps are now zooming along between 700-800 kbps. Very fast speeds for non-premium file hosts also.

There is most certainly a problem with Rapidgator to be sure. If downloading from a browser, the exact same thing happens as in JD, super slow and loss of connection. If now tried to connect in various parts of the country and the exact same thing occurs.

Would truly like to know how to set the speed limit, I've tried just about everything else with no luck at all. I have even set Max Chucks per download at 5 to see if that does something and it has no effect.

Does anyone have these problems.

It may be a choke coming into America. Is anyone in the US having the same issue?

If it happens via browser + JD it is certainly no JD issue.
You can set the speedlimit in the bottom right corner quick settings in JD.
By default, no limit is active.
