Default Updating 9.581... stuck in a loop!

Hello,
i'm using JDownloader a couple of years and never had any problems but it's been a few days now that every time i fire up JDownloader i get tha "JDownloader Installation" window with the language and the download directory setup. After i click ok i get the "Update to version 9.581 - Update succesfull". I tried uninstalling-reinstalling, clearing all temp files etc. but nothing seems to work! (i'm on Windows XP SP3). Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

The database.script file is 150KB. No, i haven't updated my Java recently.

After update, everything seems to work just fine. That's until i close and reopen the program.

No, I don't think so. Config is not saved somehow. Win XP usually doesn't cause this problem. Maybe AV.

No, it's not solved yet. I'm using Microsoft Essentials for the las couple of years. I don't think it has something to do with it.

I am also stuck in 9.581 update restart loop.
everytime I start jd it would start the choose language/download folder location & try to update.
Other than that, it works. Only happens on this pc (win7x86), not sure why. works fine on my other pc (win7x64)

Java version: Standard, 1.7.0_02-b13
Installed @ C:\jdownloader

When installed at other locations ie (c:\program files\jdownloader\) it gives the "jdownloader is installed @ C:\*.*" This causes errors" message.

I'm able to save my download list on program restarts if I do it manually. if not, it a 50% chance of it auto saving or not.
Also, jdownloader did not prompt to install java when i first installed jd, i remember a while back, it'd prompt that java is missing, please install (or something along those lines), not sure if that still applies; however I have installed java and reinstalled jd multiple times, so that shouldn't be a cause factor.

Otherwise, great program. Keep up the good work =)

close jd
rightclick on the folder, properties, security tab and give every user full access
i think your windows prevents java from saving data into its config folder (loosing config)
or install at not protected location (c program files is windows protected), for example c:\jdownloader

Ehhm, btw hakkafusion: JD 0.9581 does not officially support Java 7. This will cause problems. Please uninstall Java, remove rests with JavaRa, restart and install Java 6 Update 32.
