Default International Hotfile problems thread

Hi

I have been using Jdownloader for quite some time now and think it's a brilliant program.

But I have to ask why is it that on hotfile if the download get's interuppted then when it starts it again Jdownloader shows message "Server re direction" and starts the file from scratch.

opera browser can continue broken downloads, cryptload can also.

Is this a bug or is it a known issue that will be resolved?

Yep, I've encountered the same problem as you, concerning Hotfile.com. Just today, I was DLing a 633mb HD-Anime, but got interrupted when it was close to finishing at around 600mb+. Not only did it start the DL again at the very beginning, it forced me to wait another 30 mins. for it to do so.

I think I've read somewhere on the Wiki, that JD can only resume a broken DL only when the filehosts supports it, though I'm not so sure. Hopefully, the team can develop a way for us to resume broken downloads, without restarting the DL from scratch.

Default hotfile

I'm a premium member of hotfile. It can support broken downloads.

You mentioned having to wait for download so I gather you are downloading free. That doesn't support broken downloads

Premium supports resume so i am asking you:
Do have any firewall/antivirus programm ?
If so, did you put java.exe and jacaw.exe on the exeptions list ?

No java.exe and jawaw.exe are accepted. I don't have problems with rapidshare or any other site just hotfile.

Avg 9 proffessional but switched off html already.

Firewall is windows 7 firewall.

Cryptload will continue the download so will opera browser.

If resuming downloads is not supported by hotfile for free loaders, then it won't work in any other tool.

I see this occasionally from Megaupload, or Hotfile.

Normally caused my some sort of network interference. Just reset the link and it should continue. If it doesn't. Copy the link, delete the link from JDownloader, and re-add the link, and it should work fine.If it still doesn't try your browser. If your browser fails it is the file host, not JD.

I normally check the error with the browser first, it's 99% of the time file host related.

Moved->Hoster-Plugins!
bbx please lower the max connections for your files, reset them and try again.
The error you get is usually caused by using more connection than Hotfile allows you to.

Hotfile uses reCaptcha and you must enter the response by hand.

I've got a Premium hotfile account which authenticates perfectly through the premium account section in JDownloader.

JDownloader displays the following error and never starts the download.

I can download the file fine through the browser (Firefox 3.6.8)

I have the latest JDownloader version as I've done a full upgrade.
I'm running XP SP3

firewall lets JD through fully in both directions. and for example in JD Rapidshare links work but Hotfile does not.

edit: now the problem is intermittent despite me not having changed anything.

Scooby, almost always they mean a complete post. Although the section you posted shows the error, they have no idea what happened before that could have caused the issue. Take a peak at drbits signature, and upload a complete log.

Thumbs down Same problem with me from yesterday

Hi,

I am getting the Invalid account problem from yesterday... it was working smoothly till the day before, this has started happening all of a sudden.

And when I tried logging in from Web browser, it tell me, 'Too many failed attempts to login from this IP address. Try again in 10 minutes.'

This use to happen before too & it had fixed itself about 3 weeks back, but seems to have come back... dont know if its a Hotfile issue or JD issue...

Thanks
Jonn

Jonn,

Your message leaves out all of the important information. Read the Bug Report Forum rules.
You need to supply sample links and upload a log.
You should at least have told us what host you are talking about.

Try unplugging your router from the data source and plugging it back in.

Having the same issue as jonn with hotfile 'Too many failed attempts to login from this IP address. Try again in 10 minutes.'. Coulid there be a problem with jdownloader causing login errors whilst trying to connect to hotfile.

Hmmm.

JD logs in for every file that it downloads via premium BUT the message says "too much failed attempts".
JD will only log in for every link if it "knows" that the account is valid.

I think hotfile also deactivates accounts that are valid and used by JD.
If this is true the hotfile JD premium support wouldn't be possible anymore...if hope it's not.

Default Hotfile invalid account error

I did a forum search, but there was no clear answer, on this problem, and none recently but I will give as much info as possible

my set-up is simple

1mb connection to router wireless to my computer g-range currently

operating system - windows 7 ultimate
antivirus firewall - microsoft essentials

all legit software

firewall open for specific programs

occasional problems with jdownloader but nothing big, all fixed myself, and this is usually when i forget to renew my rapidshare account

I have a premium rapidshare account that works fine, wish I will be running until renewal and never renew again

hence moving to hotfile

the hotfile was working fine for a while a few weeks, last couple days or week it had occasional problems where the paid account would not work, and i would get captcha's

currently it shows as a invalid account

and im in Uk

i think i know what's causing these problems.

firstly it appears that Hotfile has been placed on the IWF list. therefore all traffic to the site is routed through an invisible proxy.

because all users go through this proxy they all appear to be coming from the same address. Hotfile claims it works from cookies and NOT ip addresses but clearly they are blocking multiple account logins from the same address. this explains why its near-impossible to authenticate into Hotfile

JD in its premium section attempts to login to the Hotfile account using HTTP and therefore the account access is not permitted.

if you're not logged into Hotfile in or out of JD then you can only get free access to Hotfile.

to 'solve' this problem i did a few things.

since its also impossible to login to the Hotfile.com site via HTTP, i tried using HTTPS and it worked fine. from there its still problematic to download HTTP Hotfile links. to get around this i simply changed each HTTP link to a HTTPS and downloaded though FlashGet.

as far as JD is concerned, its impossible to do anything until the premium section manages to login to the user's Hotfile account. this can only truly be done using HTTPS but can also be done purely by chance using JDs default HTTP login. if that's ever successful you can add HTTPS Hotfile links and they will download perfectly bypassing the proxy. Bear in mind that HTTP links will still prove to be problematic or intermittent because they are still required to go through the proxy.

To summarize, this is an weird problem caused by the introduction of proxies that are preventing users logging into Hotfile either through their website or via JD using HTTP

To solve the problem it may be necessary to introduce a HTTPS login into Hotfile in JD and to allow HTTPS file download from Hotfile in a similar way that Rapidshare can be allowed to accomplish through JD

anyway that's my take and that's my solution. I hope it helps at least one other person.

Bugtracker Ticket

If any of the sites accept HTTPS, then login should use HTTPS and there should be an option to download using HTTPS. Generally, if the ISP forces a proxy, but the server at the other end does not, is to use tunneling. You tell your OS (or JD) that the proxy requires HTTPS, but since the server will not support HTTPS, the actual data inside the HTTPS has to be an HTTP stream. The Proxy strips the HTTPS tunnel off of the data and sends it on. On the return trip, the Proxy adds the HTTPS tunnel.

Hotfile will not sort it out. They deliberately sabotage JDownloader. They also read this forum. The reason that Hotfile cares about how many connections are on a single IP address is because free users are also using the same IP address. Hotfile could easily fix this by looking at the HTTP (or HTTPS) header, which identifies the proxy. They probably check the HTTP header from free users for this, but not the HTTPS headers for login.

It makes sense that some ISPs would place Hotfile on a proxy for safety.

Well it has been sorted out, you should have given them more leeway in sorting out this problem as it's nothing hotfile could have done about it, loads of ISP's are entitled by law to use it but I think they changed the system to use cookies instead now.

I'm downloading again.

Mad Geordie,
Check your HF premium account in a browser. Make sure there are no problems there.

If the account works in the browser, but not JD, please upload a log showing your session so we can see what is happening. What Antivirus and firewall are you using? Which version of Java and JD are you using? What is your OS version?

Heres an interesting one - are you in the UK? I've been reading up on the IWF filter which has been implemented in the UK. Its apparently causing loads of problems with file hosters. I have the same issue as you but as soon as I go through a proxy, everything works fine.

Hello,

I am also in the UK and I have just started using jdownloader the other day and I'm not sure if my problem is linked to this topic of this thread, so I would like some help please (I am a real newbie, so please be gentle!).

I have worked through the beginners guide tutorial, etc. I can download files okay, but I am am confused about where I enter my Hotfile premium account information.

I searched for instructions about entering premium account information and I have tried to followed the instructions given in an earlier thread. But when I go to Settings and look at the details shown on the tab Plugins & Addons - Host - Premium, the password shows as *****.

This is not enough characters for my Hotfile password. Also the status shows as blank, yet the correct expiry date of my premium subscription is shown.

How can I check the information for my Hotfile file on JD and make sure it is accessing my premium account on Hotfile and not the limited free account?

Thank you.

Cool

If you want to use your premium account you need to add it with Premium -> Host A-J -> hotfile.com -> Add Account.

You should also check/tick "Enable Premium usage globally" (left bottom corner of jD window).
