JD2 permissions issue
How do I troubleshoot so that JD2 permissions
Code:
Properties -> Set Downlaod Directory -> Download This problem occurs on any PC running Windows 10. I don't want to correct the permissions of the folders I save files to with the "Take Ownership" script every time. I have tested this on multiple PCs, so this problem is generally JD2 related. Maybe JD2 has some advanced options that I know nothing about? Please note that I run the programme from "JDownloader.JAR" and not from the .EXE executable file. My System works perfectly, the IT helper told me to contact the developer of the JD2 software to solve the problem with this application individually, when this tool is used to save files previously created folders by this application. when running from jar you're running from javaw.exe or java.exe and this could have permission issues as its for that whole process no matter which java program you're running (*.jar). I would assume that maybe windows is some how locking it down in some manner, this is just a guess I have not done any tests. Any reason you don't utilise the binary launcher?

It sounds like you are experiencing a file permissions issue with JD2 on multiple PCs running Windows 10. While it is possible that JD2 has some advanced options that could help with this issue, without more information about your specific setup and the exact error messages you are receiving, it is difficult to provide specific advice.
However, here are a few general suggestions that may help resolve the issue: Try running JD2 as an administrator. Right-click on the JD2 icon and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu. This may give JD2 the necessary permissions to access the folders you are trying to save files to. Check the file permissions of the folders you are trying to save files to. Right-click on the folder and select "Properties" from the context menu. Go to the "Security" tab and make sure that your user account has the necessary permissions to read and write to the folder. If not, you may need to adjust the permissions manually. Make sure that your user account has administrative privileges on the PC. Without administrative privileges, you may not have the necessary permissions to access certain folders. If none of these suggestions resolve the issue, you may need to contact JD2 support or seek further assistance from a Windows 10 support forum. |
