Default JDownloader2 not working well after the last update

Hello
JDownloader2 is not working well after the last update, something you did, that you messed it up completely !
For example, sometimes, you cannot delete by pressing the Del key in your keyboard ?x)x)
Sometimes you cannot change the name of a group of link, by clicking over the name and editing it, now sometimes this is working, other times it doesn't
What you did?x)x)

The problem is with the new anti-popup effort. There's a 30 second delay that freezes JD for that period.

You can't seem to alter this delay in the settings.

Luckily I've got into the habit of keeping a pre-update version.

billnotben which delay?

Is this just trolling? If not, please let me know what you know.

I confirm now we cannot delete links by pressing the Del key in linkgrabber and the download window.
Edit: probably the author of the UGLY robot CRAB who wants to stress us more often

rrog: yes.. probably.

Could anybody here be nice, upload some logs, or join the chat NOW for a teamviewer session? That would be great.

Are you joking.

Look in advanced settings.

And try using a stop watch.

Don't get me wrong JD is a great program and I couldn't do without it, but this highlights exactly why many people want a clear "update off" button. So they can decide to update when and if it becomes necessary.

Sorry I do not know what you mean! My JD runs pretty fine. So please tell me - as detailed as possible - what's wrong.

My JD runs pretty fine too. After the 30 second freeze (actually more like a minute).

It's a minor nuisance that will probably disappear on the next update.

Of course we can be nice :D I was just frustrated because I was unable to delete links with the DEL key. I got a new update, but I did not have time to test it.
Let me know exactly, please, what do you need.
A log file? The same I send when the captchas don't work?

Here it is:
15.06.13 23.42.16to15.06.13 23.42.03 jdlog://1371332737632/

If you need something different, please, let me know.

The DEL key problem continue... I cannot delete captured links pressing the alt key.

Also I detect a new problem, you cannot use the cursor keys up / down to move up or down from the captured links...

STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM

LinkGrabber (Linksammler)
Capture some links, copying them, they'll go directly to the LinkGrabber tab...

DEL KEY is not working there
Cursor keys up down are not working there...

Downloads
If you go to the Downloads tab you'll see the captured links list... then you'll realize the cursor keys up / down are working... also the DEL key it's working and you can delete a certain link using the DEL key...

BUT

after deleting a link, it stop to work, after using the DEL key and deleting a link, the DEL key doesn't work anymore and the up / down cursor keys to move up / down from the links list, don't work anymore.

ALSO...

Under certain conditions the up / down cursor keys don't work at all
and the DEL key don't work at all

The problem is not fixed, and it happened after the last updates.

Please, could you fix it?

I've attached a LOG file, if you need more, please, let me know.

No DEL key don't work. No the last update, did not fix the problem. It's working sometimes, but not always, sure you checked it out one time, and yes, it worked, but it's not working always, see my recommendations to reproduce the bug. I can prove this is not working, saving a video and uploading it if you give me an email.

Exactly, it is not working. Some people report it is working, because this is a *** RANDOM FAILURE *** sometimes it works, some times it doesn't work.

HERE YOU HAVE A NEW LOG:
16.06.13 06.14.28to16.06.13 06.14.32 jdlog://1371356577006/

Besides all the mentioned problems, we have a new one:
You cannot edit links names. When this is failing and the up down cursor keys don't work and the DEL key don't work, I've found that if you click with the mouse over the name of a group of links, you cannot edit the name.

Another strange behaviour reported:
If suddenly up down cursor keys work again... when you press the DEL key to delete a certain link... the link is deleted but automatically a lot of content from the download list is selected automatically, the selection is absolutely random and no sense?

*** How to fix temporarily the problem ***

When the DEL key is not working and the up down cursor keys are not working, this seems to fix the problem temporarily

1. From your download list... double click a group of links
2. A new window will pop up and show the folders where the links have been downloaded or where they will be
3. Close that window
4. Now you observe the DEL key is working again and the up down cursor keys are working also.
5. If you delete a link using the DEL key, the link will be deleted but... WE REPRODUCE THE BUG... and now the DEL key don't work again, and also the up down cursor keys won't work again.
6. To solve the problem just go back to the point 1

This is a royal pain, and really need an urgent fix.

@mrmister Thanks for the Log.

I found a few Exceptions in the log:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class com.sun.jna.Native

This is pretty strange. Please check if these files are available in our

JDownloader Install Directory:

libs/jna.jar
libs/jna_platform.jar

Note: This error probably caused all your problems. I commited a workaround. Almost everything should work fine with this workaround.

However 2 things will not work until we found the cause fpr the NoClassDefFoundError.

:attention: Task Bar Flashing if JDownloader wants to notify you
:attention: AntiStandby Extension

So please check these 2 jna libraries. Which antivirus to you use? Maybe the antivirus system blocks these native calls.

Depends. Check GraphicalUserInterfaceSettings.focustriggerforcaptchadialogs advanced config. You can customized when the captcha window should get the focus.

libs/jna.jar
libs/jna_platform.jar
I got an update, and seems to be it is working now, BUT, please, allow me I check it well during the whole day.
My antivirus is ESET NOD32 4.0 which is quite popular, never had problems with my antivirus and last versions from JDownloader2, everything happen after some of the recent updates, everything screwed up...:whistling:

@mrmister before give my feedback I tried several times on two different installations of JDownloader in my download list I had ~ 900 links and ~ 40 packages, and I deleted several links already completed (449). But like it is a random failure, maybe this is the reason why I had not the problem. However, If I have the same problem, of course I will report it.

greetings,

rrogntudjû then I assume that you are affected by the JNA Problem as well. Probably the AntiStandByExtension Does not work for you as well.

After the last update it is working again and now the up down cursor keys are working as well as the DEL key...
BUT ! We have another problem
when a new download start and require a captcha... the window don't splash in my screen, I mean, I have the window to enter the captcha, yes... but it is not at first plane... I just see the icon of JDownloader2 blinking in yellow... so I have to click over it, and yes, I have the window there asking me the captcha

Before, I did not need to do this... just simply the captcha window was prompted in my screen in front of my current application, word, excell whatever I was using...

This is a serious problem, because I am missing a lot of downloads, because I cannot be looking to JDownloader2 all the time... so I need the window splash in front of me to enter the captcha...

(I'll be away tomorrow cos I'm helping my girlfriend with the thesis, tomorrow is the last day to present it, so I can continue helping and reporting tuesday night).

Tried updating again to the latest but I still get the minute freeze. CPU usage sticks at 50% during that time.

For the moment I've gone back to the earlier version where the autoupdate switch works and with the latest plugins.

That version works perfectly as I want it to.

@mrmister: Look at GraphicalUserInterfaceSettings.focustriggerforcaptchadialogs

@billnotben: I have no idea how this freeze can happen. Can you join the chat and ask me for a teamviewer session?

The actual problem here is solved.... so closed
