Disappearing files even while downloading
Hi JD,
i have a serious problem. when i'm downloading a file, sometime at the end of the loading, the file get an error and just disappears... even if i search with right click, see folder. and sometimes during the download, i check in the folder to see if the file (.part one) is right here : it is. then i come back later, and it's not anymore... but the file is still downloading in the JD window ! (it's happening right now). if i right click, see folder, it opens the folder, but no file in it... i never get that before (i'm using JD since few years...). after not using it for sometimes, now i'm using it again since a month, and it's happening a lot... all is update. i'm on macOS lion (not a hackintosh). thanks a lot in advance for your help. from france, xav |

in stable and nightly jdownloader versions there's a issue with renaming file which results in the file been removed from unix type operating systems (macosx, unix, linux) which includes macosx as they based there newer OS on unix. This has been covered many times on the forum if you'd like to search you can find future evidence of this. My advise is try JD2 as it's meant to be resolved to a certain degree.
you can get jd2 from http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=37365 as your mac user you will need to goto the application folder find your way to where the jars are located and extract the zip to that folder. inside terminal run this string. java -jar updater.jar

all right for the jar update, hope this version is not too much unstable. thanks a lot for your (quick) answer . Last edited by colossus928; 10.06.2012 at 10:01. Reason: (quick) |

While downloading, that shouldn't happen. It was only on the post download rename from filename.extension.part to filename.extension that it failed. See what happens with JD2 if it works without fault use that version instead. Just be aware it's still in development.
