Question File Host Priority

This may have been asked before but I cannot find an answer...

Is there a way in a package with many mirrors of the same file to give one filehost/mirror priority over another?

Thanks

-increase priority of the mirror you wish to try first
-disable other mirrors
-move preferred mirror before the rest

How do you do this as the "priority" function only changes the priority of the file not the mirror - i.e. so if you have several mirrors for the same file the priority is given to the file over another file but it doesn't favour one mirror over another for the same file

-disable other mirrors

This defeats the object - that being to have a download with multiple mirrors but being able to prioritize one mirror over another, but if that mirror does not work then it automatically goes to the next, which it cannot do if disabled.

-move preferred mirror before the rest

Tried this it does not work - jdownloader will use the mirror it prefers regardless of where it is in the order.

So thank you for your answer but it does not solve the issue

Are all mirrors premium or mixed?
Because at the moment the *higher* priority method will only work if both are premium.
JDownloader will always optimize mirror selection to avoid captchas/waiting time/reduce idle time

None are premium, hence the wish to prioritize some over others - some are faster than others but don't always get chosen by jdownlader first, so I was hoping to set the priority manually.

Then it should work fine via priority!
Select the host/mirror you wish to try first and give them a higher priority

It does not!

Purely as an example I have attached a screenshot of a file with 4 mirrors which I have firstly ordered in preference and the top one (zippyshare) you will see I have given highest priorty and yet jdownloader ignores my choice and starts downloading the last on my list!

What host is that? JD also tries to minimize the captchas. Does that host show a captcha?

Zippyshare
Mega
Toutbox
Openload

None have captchas
Currently all are as good as each other - similar speed etc, but sometimes they differ so would like to order them in preference

zippyshare can have captcha, though during peak times. It has value in the plugin to define that it contains captcha to true.

mega, toutbox, openload, don't have this value set, maybe when not defined in plugin it set to true ?

Can I change the value in the plugin.

Even so why did it prioritize openload over mega and toutbox?

I will check why openload got selected. The complete mirror selection is not simple and because of that I will need some time to check/rewrite it.

There is always the decision between user priority (order, priority) vs best choice(no captcha, no waiting time)...what to do when users sets high priority on a file with captcha but JDownloader could start a mirror without captcha....

Noticed openload gets priority regardless of priority settings over uploadbaz and clicknupload as well

Happened again

Zippyshare mirror set to "Highest"
Uploadbaz set to "Higher"
Openload set to "High"
Mega set to "Low"

Yet despite these settings JDownloader chose Mega
