JD crashes (or is unable to exit) on OS shutdown/restart
On a Windows XP machine I have the problem, that whenever I shutdown or restart the system (without closing JD manually first), JD seems to crash or at least Windows is unable to close it properly and shows me the "Close now" dialog.
I then tried to start JD with windows_createlog.bat. But then on shutdown, Windows was unable to close the command line that was created and still running when starting the windows_createlog batch file. The last log entry only says "ShutDownHook: unexpected shutdown event, hurry up and save database!" What could be going wrong here? Is there anything else I can do to debug this? // java version is 6 with update 27-b01 btw. Last edited by Spooky; 23.09.2011 at 11:59. |

I think this could be a bug in java, but I always exit jD before I shut down my computer.

Hm, that would be bad :(. It's basically a server machine, where I would only use the webinterface of JD and generally only remotely use the server. And it also automatically restarts sometimes, but JD would block it in this case.

If I remember well Jiaz mentioned that JRE 6 update 27 has this problem. I don't know whether it has been solved yet. Just try an newer or older (update 21 for instance) version of the JRE.

Thx, I reverted back to update 21 and now it works
(I tried update 26 first, but there the problem still happened.) |
