When I download non-archived files from wetransfer, the image files are corrupted. Other files (MP3, FLAC, etc.) are not affected by it. When I download directly through the browser, the files are fine. Notably, (for direct downloads) it archives all files into a zip archive before the download commences.
I tried it multiple times with different links and always get the same result. The image files are corrupt. Example: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** 25.02.24 19.32.39 <--> 26.02.24 08.39.36 jdlog://7611411370661/ |

I attached an example of the same image file downloaded through jDownloader (folder [corrupt].jpg) and directly (folder.jpg). Note the slightly different file size!
[p.s. I had to archive the corrupted file because your browser upload detected that it was not a valid image file] ![]() |

I can see that some (but not all) image-files are corrupt.
However, I do not see a JDownloader bug here. Wetransfer.com allows the user to download single files or all files as .zip file. JDownloader does not have the .zip feature to allow the user to sort stuff in beforehand. Please contact the wetransfer.com support and ask them to fix those broken single file downloads.

thank you for the prompt reply. It's weird though that the same files are not corrupt when you download them directly. They are only corrupt when you download them with jdownloader. In my attachment above, I downloaded the same file with JD and directly and only the JD file is corrupt.

Hmm
I'm sorry for maybe being stupid but atm I can't even navigate (in)to the single files via browser: I can only download the whole folder as .zip but no single files. Where do I need to go to download the single files?

It's my fault for not explaining it more clearly. My point is: When you look at the 2 files I attached above, one of them was downloaded via JD (by selecting the full link and downloading all files individually via JD) and that one is corrupt. The other (non-corrupt) file is the SAME "folder.jpg" file from the same link, but downloaded directly through the web browser (by clicking on "download", which then archives it and downloads the whole set of file). That file is not corrupt. So, my point is that the file online is obviously not corrupt, but somehow gets corrupted during the download with JD. I tried several different links and the result is always the same: The image files are always corrupt (with slightly different file size). This didn't used to be the case. It's just weird that the audio files are fine and only the image files get corrupted (and the file size is slightly different).
I have maximum chunks per download set to 1, if that makes any difference. p.s.: I also just noticed that the same thing happens with other servers, e.g.: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** |

We figured out what the problem is:
For some reason, WeTransfer is delivering all files separately as .zip file. So technically they are not broken - if you rename a ".tif" file into ".zip", you can extrract it and get to the real file. We are working on a solution and I will also re-add the feature "download all files as .zip" which will also work-around this problem. We do not know why wetransfer did this. Possible to save space on the server-side.

No worries! I may have accidentally sent you the wrong link, but I used your suggestion in that folder and renamed the image files to zip and it worked! You're a genius!! (That also explains the slightly smaller file size)

By the way, the problem affects all files but some players (e.g. VLC media player) and image viewers (e.g. IrfanView) will just display the contents of those files as if those were not .zip files.
However, you will run into problems if you try to e.g. play the .flac files with other media players. I'll mark the thread as solved one we've updated our plugin. Thanks for the report!

Wetransfer.com plugin changelog:
- Added settings for crawl results - Added support for single .zip download - Single .zip download is the new default setting for now because as long as all other files are also .zip files with wrong file-extensions, more and more users will likely complain that they get broken files. - Temporarily removed support for "collect.wetransfer.com/board/..." because it was broken anyways Screenshot of the new settings:
Spoiler:
![]() The mentioned changes have already been released.

Auto detection and extraction of such .zip files has been added so by now it should feel just like before.

@zOrlAc: Thanks for the feedback. Maybe in future we can/will also add post download extraction progress for larger files. Please report issues in case you encounter any

Found another issue (not sure if I should open another thread: Audio files with Umlauts (ö, ü, etc.) are corrupted during download. The files have the correct file size, but do not play back and bitrate, sample rate, etc. in the Tag show as "0". When I download the files directly (without JD), they are fine. This happens to all audio files with odd characters.
example: **External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** Track 09. Baby Ür A Dräg |

OK seems to be similar to the prior issue. For some reason, JD packs files with odd characters into archives (like it did with image files before). For example, I changed the extension for Baby Ür A Dräg from .flac to .rar and was able to unpack the file.
For some reason, it only does that with Umlaut-files. |

@zOrlAc: Not JDownloader packing the files but missing unpacking
