Default LinkSnappy account not accepted

LinkSnappy wasn't working. Saw a message on their site re. updates to JD, so, despite my version saying it is "up to date", I uninstalled, downloaded a fresh copy and reinstalled. Now it won't allow me to add a LinkSnappy account at all, saying it's an invalid account/password issue ... which I assure you, it's not.

So ... problem on your end? on LS end? Either way, it hasn't been working for several days and now isn't even trying ... argh.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance!

Please enable debug mode in advanced settings, restart JD, try add account again, upload the log.

I uninstalled then reinstalled JD ... problem persisted, but the install seemed strange somehow, plus, despite declining anything extra, I somehow ended up with Chromium installed and my home pages hijacked. Thinking that perhaps the download was corrupted or compromised<?> and remembering that I'd seen a post re. an "ad-free" version of the program, downloaded THAT webinstaller ... uninstalled again, deleted all traces of JD folders and files ... and -voila!- it is working now. Also, the installation process seemed much better, so maybe there was a problem with the other webinstaller ... dunno.

Computers ... gotta love'em I 'spose ... but I'm not so sure about the promises of "easier, faster, more fun!"

Many thanks for the prompt reply. If the problems recur, I'll let you know.

uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times in succession wont cause/solved this type of issue (by the sounds of it you didn't opt out of adware?). Plugins are the same, and no changes have been made in respects to password. Wrong user:pass sounds like you either copied pasted in which might have copied whitespace (tabs/space) either side of password. Whitespace issue is very common, problem is we cannot address this issue on our backend because user passwords can contain whitespace... So its most likely something that you did, is what changed the outcome!

thanks for the follow up feedback.
