IS there a trick to get all channel vids on a very big channel, where it only appears to be downloading 20 ish

Can't reproduce any error. Can you please provide a screenshot of your about dialog of JDownloader?
my guess is that your JDownloader runs out of memory

How many videos do you pull down please?

I’m running on a Mac Pro so would hope it wouldn’t be memory

It has nothing to do with System, on Mac especially Java memory might be limited to 512mb memory which is not enough for many yt links as those require most memory. So pleaes provide a screenshot of about dialog.
I stopped crawling after 40
