It is possible that the JAC parser is confused by the hyphen. If this is the case, we can ask the developers to fix it.
there's also free-share.ru in that jacinfo.xml , but i've yet to find a download link for this host, I've never used it, I use easy-share.com all the time, too bad somehow JD doesn't see it's in the Captchatrader jacinfo.xml

Tyop & remi

I borrowed PSP's magic powers. Your discussion is over.

If you must continue the discussion, don't do it in public.

If you start flaming again, banning (at least temporary) is in your future.

It wasn't me who was flaming and accusing. Why did you remove my posts? Have you been sent to do the dirty work or are you just taking the opportunity to be funny.

Here are my posts so that everyone can decide for herself.

1)
Quote:
How did you get these reCaptchas? This is not the way I get them from jD.

Note that I'm always listening to either Internet radio or my mp3 music. I don't want to interrupt my favourite occupation for listening to a stupid audio challenge.

Are you accusing me of being a hypocrite? Please, show me where I'm not writing/telling what I think/pursue (my definition of hypocrisy).

Note that I can understand that you like typing captchas, otherwise I don't understand your reaction. Although I can cope with (re)captchas, I find them a big annoyance.

"Dear hypocrite" is a contradiction, unless you like hypocrites.

If you're accusing me of hypocrisy, you'll need to prove that. Here is a definition of hypocrisy :

Quote:
Hypocrisy is the state of pretending to have beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that one does not actually have. Hypocrisy involves the deception of others and is thus a kind of lie.
(source : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypocrisy)
Tyop accused me of being a hypocrite and I simply wanted to defend myself. If that's no longer possible, then there is no justice here. I still didn't understand why Tyop was accusing me.

BTW, I'm not impressed by your threats at all. I'm a free and independent man.

I think this discussion about reCaptchas is important and relevant. Please read the following paragraph.

@Tyop

I'm sorry drbits removed your potentially valuable posts. I haven't seen your last reply so I still don't understand why you've been accusing me. I think I explained it all. Where I might have failed is that I've never seen any audio challenges in jD or any other application. I've never been able to hear anything on websites with reCaptchas (and I'm not deaf). If you can help me finding out how they work in applications and in a web browser I would be happy.

drbits seems to like bureaucratic rules and seems to selectively hate some forms of free speech. He recently tried to force me changing my personal signature but he couldn't acquire enough power. It clearly shows his goals and who he really is. Note that I can also support these observations with facts when needed.

Note that Gogol might be actively involved in this as they removed the discussion from their cache as well. Did you keep a copy of your posts?

A last question: Are you working for that evil company?

Note also that I'll keep telling what I think about the captchas hypocrisy no matter the pressure exerted by any power elite. If it isn't here then I do it where free speech is still allowed. I'll never bend for any neo-communist power elite.

I know you guys didn't 100% talk about off-topic stuff but still, it was a discussion between remi and Tyop so you can also do it via PM.
Sorry guys but this is over now!

Default Centralized captcha database

Just thinking out loud... Don't know if this could be done.
Every captcha we get is stored in the Captchas folder. If I'm not mistaken, this is done in order to make JD automatically enter it if we ever get the very same captcha again.
Well, this is pretty unlikely, and in the meantime thousands of captchas are stored in our HD.
Instead, could these captchas be uploaded somewhere so there is a centralized database that JD could check every time we have a captcha to complete? If a specific captcha isn't on the database yet, then the user would enter it and it would be then uploaded. The captcha entering process would be increasingly automatic and we would all collaborate...
I understand there would be a risk of server overload, but let me know what you think.

Greets.

Remi, I send you PM, because you have strange problem with reading other people (pspzockerscene) posts.
BTW, those posts that you quoted, they were not deleted, and they are still on previous page. Strange.

To be fair, aside from a mild flaming at google, which is pretty common and not uncalled for generally, Remi kept it civil- opposed to Tyop with his personal uncalled for insults.
I think this has to be noted and articulated by the mods.
If you feel it is your duty to keep the forum clean, it's in your own interest to personalize your criticism rather than shutting both down collectively.
And it should also apparently be in your interest to be fair to board users, no?

cheers (feel free to delete the post for OT after reading, no hard feelings)

I apologize for hurting people's feelings. This board is much more tolerant of off-topic writing than most political boards. However, there are limits I must follow.

Please understand that none of the staff wants to restrict people's free speech. However, the right of free speech does not include the right of free publication. The right of publication belongs the publisher (the managers in this case). I have been instructed in the past that off=topic political or inflammatory discussion is to be removed. All ad hominem remarks are out of bounds.

Accusing any member of being part of a "power elite" is out of bounds on this board, even if it is written as a question. If you want so start a discussion about the evils of the international corporate oligarchy, this is not the correct board (even if I agree with you most of the time).

For the record, the only "power elite" I belong to is those who are over-educated and unemployed.

@Tyop

I've no idea what the second deleted post was. I've no trace of it and I keep copies of all my posts.

I read psp's post and I replied to him.

Thanks for your PM. I've seen many rants and even death threats against that evil company on this board and these posts weren't removed. That's why I talked about double standards.

The audio needs Flash and Flash poses so many security issues that I don't want to take the risk of running it on my computers.

I think the reason why jD doesn't provide the audio captchas is that jD can't be used by visually impaired people at all. For that its usability needs to be increased considerably. drbits will certainly agree with me, because he referred to some basic HMI standards that are not supported by jD.

@psp

There have been longer discussions between 2 people on this board that were interesting for other people as well.

@drbits

Thanks for your apologies. It shows you aren't a blind robot. I've been very careful, because I knew people on this board are sensitive to accusations, although they were directed to me. To me accusations are an indication that something is wrong or misunderstood. Conflicts should not be censored but discussed. By deleting my posts I felt attacked, and this is much worse than being accused of something I'm not aware of.

I'm sorry if you felt that I accused you of belonging to a PE. I just warned you that you shouldn't abuse your power by deleting innocent posts. If you don't agree with the instructions that were given to you, please discuss them with management. Mostly, responsibilities and obligations are paired with privileges or rights. This might explain your behaviour.

My statements about power elites and my signature are generalisations. They apply to any level of power and any type of conspiracy against people. I think you use the word political in a restricted way. Politics is a process by which groups of people make collective decisions. I think that on this board, and in particular the discussion and wishes forums, all thoughts and ideas should be discussed that are related to the subject of the board.

Could you please be more specific? What do you want to achieve?

@perg42

A centralised database has been discussed before in this or the captcha thread. The captchas are not intended to be kept on your disk. They should be deleted by jD but this doesn't seem to happen all the time.

Default a solution for CAPTCHA of any kind

Hi.
Once it was suggested by spammers, This solution is depends of the community size.
This method can solve any captcha of any kind.

Captcha can be recognize mostly (and hardly) by humans, therfore humans will solve it.

I'll explain by example:
lets say that I have a free 5 minutes, In those 5 minutes, I'll click a button on the JDownloader GUI, and it will pop a window with captcha's that I can solve for other people.
every captcha I solve correctly, I get a captcha to be solved by others...
this way I can save few captcha's to be solved later.
at a later time I will be able to download without the need to solve the captcha (other people will solve it for me, because thats what I did for others)

(Donations: The developers can take every Xth solved captcha for themselves, they can sell it in order to fund the project.)

There might be many security and privacy issues, But This is only a basic idea, it can be improved.

@Tyop

Thanks for your PMs, explaining your problem with me. I want to discuss this in public because I think other people might find this interesting/important.

I now understand why you call me a hypocrite. The reasons why I rant Gogol and not jD for the discrimination are the following :-

1) Gogol is the original source of the problem. Nobody will deny that.

2) In the past I've been criticising jD for its lack of usability. It was and still is its weakest area. After months of discussions drbits took over because he claims to be a specialist. Until now he and I haven't obtained much. People who have been around from the beginning will confirm this. Earlier versions of jD were easier to use.

I don't think adding audio captchas to jD will add much, compared to all the other usability problems that still need to be solved first. I think customers need to think about priorities as well. The program needs a usability boost and I don't know when that's going to happen. It might take years and the question is whether the current OCHs will still exist. The current stable version is still a sub-1.0 release.

3) I'm still not sure this audio thingy really works. I've tried to download the mp3 file, but couldn't. I seem to get a link called "Download sound as MP3", but that link sends me to a blank page ("http://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/image?c=03AHJ_VuvgRxdGxqeKAWEIc-JwmYYdfJy8rzb11ifMpD2tOCSEcVKdKn_QZf3D14AxOQXBBmdkQNduRF1kMgqXMtettNGK2g95olgSiyPg2z4zCJp1eDO9dTiUM4 Dmoo5LZQe3QFPq_3LAT9opor6WtEdLzKYqyFsj9XVYno69hytekvnpV26tSxI"). I've already tried several times and on different sites, but to no avail. The page where I get that reCaptcha is "**External links are only visible to Support Staff**. Note that this file claims to be on-line but I'm already trying to download it for more than a week.

The discussion about the useability of JDownloader is actually quite relevant. I have had such problems in the past (albeit of a different nature and much more manageable than what a vision-impaired user might hit). Perhaps a separate thread / sub-forum would focus the discussion better? Because this reCaptcha thread is too large and active to host such a discussion.
