Default Last plugin updates caused Jdownloader To Freeze on Splash screen or not Work at all

I honestly do not know what happened. I have been using JDownloader for many years and this is the first time I've had any issues. However apparently it s I huge bug because now I cannot even use Jdownloader for anything whatsoever. Right after the last plugin updates, just a couple of days ago, JDownloader shutdown as it normally does, but when I restarted, the flash screen would just stay there and nothing would happen. I tried reinstalling to a newer version as apparently mine was older nad Jdownloader was able to star back up again but could not download or do anything (I'm guessing it was the lack of plugins), nor could I get it to connect and stay connected. So I did an update via jarupdate in terminal and, once again when it started, same issue, splash screen froze and stayed there indefinitely till I force quit. All this started with the last plugin updates. Can someone please help?

I would like to post the log files but I cant even get to them seeing as the application will not start in the first place. Is there anyway I can get a log report from inside the package contents or otherwise?

I am using a MAC with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Yes I know I should update to Mountain Lion but Apple has not made it very easy for me (long story).

Would appreciate any help with this as I use JD quite a lot.

I had same previous installations backed up, and i retried but the same thing happened too.

There are a few solutions: Choose one

1. Delete all Files from jd/plugins/hoster/DummyOboom*** and start jd afterwards

2. Upgrade to JD2

3. start jdupdate.jar - it will fix the installation.

thank you!
option # 3 has worked for me

on macintosh system, what i had to do is go to applications, and right click on jdownloader and choose "show the package content"

after that i browsed thru the paths to /content/resources/java/
and it was there that i found jdupdate.jar

after running this it has been repaired as desired
