Default Reset package/link without changing Disabled/Enabled state?

When I reset a package/link to delete completely/partially downloaded files, the process also automatically enables the package/link. Why does the reset function need to affect the disabled/enabled state?

I sometimes add to my queue different packages to similar content so I can decide later which package to keep. Maybe when I start downloading one package, I may later find another package that I like better, but I don't want to delete the first package links yet. So I want to disable the original package and use the reset function to delete the completed/partially downloaded files. But since the reset function also re-enables the package, I have to be very quick to disable the package again before it starts downloading.

Alternatively, is there a 'delete downloaded files' function somewhere that doesn't also delete the links?
