Default Feature Request: a button to clear logs and start new ones

Hi,

At the moment, clearing the logs and starting new ones is a bit cumbersome:
  1. Stopping JD2
  2. deleting files in the JD directory
  3. restarting JD2
I would like to have an easier way, preferably a button next to the "Reconnect", "Check for Updates", "My JDownloader" buttons.
But a button in Settings -> General / "Miscellaneous"-section would also do.

Why do I want to clear logs from time to time ?
  • Normally, I need the logs only for bug reports here in the forum. So, if there were no problems in the last time, I clear them.
  • If a problem occurs, I also clear the logs, then reproduce it, in order to have the shortest possible log containing only the problem.
  • I'm currently planning to move JD2 to my new Banana Pi. In order to reduce media wear out on the SD card, I want to use tmpfs (kind of a RAM-Disk) for all logs, including /var/log. But the Banana Pi has only 1G of RAM, so it's helpful to keep the log dir small.

Thanks and Regrds,
ubuntix

at this stage logs are session based, a client restart should create a new session and log interval. This would also ensure that any cookies kept in memory would be cleared for your re-test. You should then only have to upload the latest log session from the log uploader.

Ok.
An option to delete all logs from the previous session(s) on JD2 startup would also help, if that's easier to implement. But it should also work when I restart JD2 from the File -> Restart menu or when JD2 restarts itself afteran update.

What about the advanced settings:
Log: Max Log Files
Log: Max Log File Size
Log: Cleanup Logs Older Than XDays
?

Lram these settings are more for long term - not to quickly delete all current logs.
