Recently there has been a change in behavior on the DeviantArt plugin.

Previously, upon copying a link where the download had something that was not directly the content image, like 3D models, music and any non-image files, would properly download the content of the Download menu.

But for some reason, it changed recently, and now it only downloads the main image, ignoring the content of the button.

Here is a random link to test:
**External links are only visible to Support Staff****External links are only visible to Support Staff** (MMD models should be the easiest to find for testing)


At first I thought it was the real file with the wrong extension, based on the similar size of the file, but not only I couldn't extract them, some had significantly smaller sizes from the real ones. Properly downloading one by one directly from the link through a browser works.

So I'm not sure if this is a bug or was changed intentionally, if the latter, would it be possible to put a check in the plugin to select between the Download Button content or the image one?

No problem, as I said, anything with a different file type will do.

This gallery for example, from what I can see, everything should be a RAR/ZIP download, but they all show as PNG, just paste it on jdownloader and you will get 42 links:

I can't really read german, but google translate seems to have done a good job.

I just also just noticed the problem with Sta.sh, it would get a few other images, would not collect the main download content, and while it would recognize the files with their proper extension, all of them appear as offline.

for about two weeks now jDownloader2, most of the time but not with all images, doesn't download the full sized image but instead the resized one for the browser preview.

Example Link with the wrong filesize & resolution (to get the full size manually there is a download button in the top right of the page):

Confirm. I use JD last 3-4 months just for deviantart and after deviant switched to htttps JD dont want to DL big pictures (just few) + last 2 week dont DL SWF files from page link (with error -> plugin outdated?). direkt DL link for SWF works.

p.s. just tried again on "Abimboleb" gallery and still dont DL all full size images

In my opinion it seems, that the download button only works for PDF:

This could be possible, because this pdf-file seems saved by the "html-name" "Quarterly June 2016 by parangsakti.pdf" and not by the file-name "quarterly_june_2016_by_parangsakti-da7oshq.pdf".
Pictures and other files are saved by her file-name.

uhm, what? almost all deviant users gallery have page with DL link but try with one small

ALMOST THERE!! I tried again "almeidap" gallery and partially works....

half images have name from page description and half as usual (small caps and underscore sign). also, from this gallery still 7 images are preview, not full one! :(

also tried "affect3d-com". big images but with page desription name. SWF files are here with DL (original link) name!!

All other files would be saved with the "HTML-NAME"!
Will it be possible to save all files with the file-name from the download-link?

Most adventages I see for pictures with the same "HTML-NAME", because in newer file-names, there exist an unique identifier between the artists name and the file extension.
For example "da2d0kd" in this file name gs10_by_gm7k-da2d0kd.jpg
This identifier is unique see:

i have all galleris with "old" DL-link (unique identifier) name and assume that is JD default behaviour. now, PDF and images are renamed to as you said "HTML-NAME" and SFW "regular" name.

and yes, only DL button images have "HTML-NAME". for example, only picture from "vaesark" gallery have "old" name becouse page dont have DL button
